A cautionary tale . . .
Recently Jean was grooming a small shih tzu with health problems. The dog's heart stopped while it was being bathed, and Jean and Gary resuscitated it. Both are trained in animal first aid and CPR, and they have first aid equipment on the premises.

The dog survived . . . so the tale has a good ending.

However, it could have ended tragically. Jean and Gary contacted the veterinarian listed on the shih tzu's records. But the vet wasn't the dog's current one. The shih tzu's owner had switched veterinarians and had not told Jean and Gary.

Following a few frantic phone calls, they located the correct veterinarian.

Jean advises all of her clients to make sure the veterinarian information on their dogs are up to date. She's never "lost a dog" in all the years she has groomed, and she is thankful her record remains spotless.

She encourages pet owners to review their records to help keep their best friends safe.
